Registered Healthcare Professionals (Immunisations) COVID-19 Vaccination Programme

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

Last year, thousands of people stepped forward to offer their time and skills to support NHS England’s Covid-19 vaccination campaign. Because of them we were able to roll out primary vaccinations to millions of people quickly, saving thousands of lives.

Now, with the emergence of the Omicron variant, the vaccination programme is being ramped up further. And we are once again recruiting thousands of paid roles to help us deliver booster vaccinations at hubs across England.

The role

Joining a dynamic team, you’ll be providing vital support services across your vaccination centre. This includes carrying out clinical assessments with people ahead of their vaccination, obtaining consent, reviewing their medical history for anything that could cause an adverse reaction and escalating complex medical histories to the Registered Healthcare Professional – Supervision

You’ll talk to people about the risks and benefits of the vaccine, offering the information they need to ensure they give informed consent. You may also be asked to prepare or administer vaccines and we’ll be relying on you to manage and safely dispose of clinical waste, as well as ensuring PPE is available and changed in line with national guidelines.

Who we are looking for

Our Registered Healthcare Professionals need to be educated to degree level and have a relevant registration – for example, NMC for nurses or GPhC for pharmacists. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team and knowledge of cold chain procedures and medicines management are both essential. So too, is the ability to communicate sometimes complex and sensitive information, excellent problem solving skills and the willingness to respond quickly to sudden, unexpected demands and situations.

Where you’ll be working

We are looking for Registered Healthcare Professionals across all regions in England. If your application is successful, you will be given the opportunity to work at one or several of the vaccination centres in your region.
