With the emergence of the Omicron variant, the vaccination programme was ramped up further. But while millions of booster vaccinations have already been administered, there's still much work to done. The role
Joining a dynamic team, you’ll be providing vital support services across your vaccination centre. This includes carrying out clinical assessments with people ahead of their vaccination, obtaining consent, reviewing their medical history for anything that could cause an adverse reaction and escalating complex medical histories to the Registered Healthcare Professional – Supervision
You’ll talk to people about the risks and benefits of the vaccine, offering the information they need to ensure they give informed consent. You may also be asked to prepare or administer vaccines and we’ll be relying on you to manage and safely dispose of clinical waste, as well as ensuring PPE is available and changed in line with national guidelines.
Who we are looking for
To succeed in this vital role, you will have demonstrable experience of clinical supervision and will have current registration (temporary registration also accepted) with one of the following:
- GMC (must also include licencing as well as registration)
- Current Registration with the GDC as a dentist, dental therapist or dental hygienist
- Current Registration with the NMC as a nurse, nursing associate or midwife
- Current Registration with GPhC as a pharmacist
- Current Registration with HCPC as a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, dietitian, chiropodist/podiatrist, orthoptist, paramedic, operating department practitioner, orthotist/prosthetist, radiographer or speech and language therapist
- Current registration with the GOC as an Optometrist
So too, is the ability to communicate sometimes complex and sensitive information, excellent problem solving skills and the willingness to respond quickly to sudden, unexpected demands and situations.
Where you’ll be working
We are looking for Registered Healthcare Professionals across all regions in England. If your application is successful, you will be given the opportunity to work at one or several of the vaccination centres in your region.
